About Capt. Israel Folsom

(Illegitimate son of Col. Ebenezer who bought the estate of Col Ebenezer at auction. See Media Section.)

Israel Folsom', c. 1756 in Beaufort, NC was a Patriot as was his father. His parents were Col. Ebenezer Folsom, State Sen of NC and Elizabeth Lanier. Israel married his step sibling Edith (Bryant) Folsom, Minqua of Chickasaw Briones Bryan/t who bore at least 22 children: Edith Bryan/t (Folsom) Dawson; Needham Bryant Folsom. Capt Israel Folsom died circa 1829 in NC, United States and was buried in 1829 and his group are paid homage to in the Pitt Co Courthouse chart. He was the illegitimate child who bought the family farm from a lien auction that his father hocked for Rev War tributes. He obtained what he could not by birthright and married his wealthy step sister as the reason she held significant estates was the heiress Jacqueline Smith willed all of Smithfield's whole estate in her keep to her niece. The reason they were so rich was due to their Smith of Purton purse estates. Then the Smith widow married the very wealthy trade family of Folsom. That would be enough funds to bank role some of the militia that went Patriot on the Bryant /Briones Chickasaw regulars who were getting out of New Spain before they were apt to be enslaved for reasons politically motivated.

Nathaniel Folsom's will mentions his half brother, Capt Israel Folsom who purchased the estate of their father at auction where it had been hocked for the cause of the Revolution. Nathaniel Folsom was Captain Nathaniel Folsom mentioned
Nathaniel Folsom/Chickasaw By Marriage married 2 Chickasaw sisters. Pushmataha sister, Nohotima, married a Folsom and had Sophia. Sophia Folsom is the direct ancestor to MS Choctaw Juzans and Sharps. Nathaniel's will mentions Col. Israel, his half brother, the one who on record purchased as estate auction the estate of their father, the brother who had fought at Moore's Creek while still a Captain and this Nathaniel had a will and the estate auction is part of the DAR record. In 1756, Nathaniel Folsom married Ms Tahini first and then also, in the days of bigamy, also married his second wife had the son, Rev Israel Folsom of OK Choctaw Nation.

---Though some trees seems to be saying that Sophia's father was Ebenezer Folsom like at https://www.findagrave.com/memorial/32236542/sophia-pitchlynn, the estate records have her going to Tehani, bigamy situation with Capt Israel Folsom Who Bought The Farm.

Israel didn't pay the debt but by buying the land at 44 years old, the money went to pay the creditors. Israel married 3 x ,at least; doing frontiersman/trader business for long years Capt Israel was non legit child by Ms LANIER. Do not confuse with the other nephew named Israel Folsom, because there is one in each generation, and some who became part of the OK Choctaw Nation and had multiple wives as serial monogamy was not the order of the day: a)First, there is the Israel the nephew who was the dad of Sophia Folsom with Miss N.Tehani (That's OK Choctaw Nation). THIS Capt Israel did not marry N. TEHANI. The Nephew name Israel did. b) Was Md to a TEHINI in 1756 which is not the same as N. TEHANI. (Nathaniel's mom is Ms DANIEL. c )Legit marriage Miss DANIEL by 1777, who was Capt Israel's step-mom, and Nathaniel's mom.

Capt Israel Folsom The Illegitimate son of Patriot Ebenezer Folsom, Bought The Farm At Auction, Capt Israel Folsom is mentioned in his legit brother Nathaniel's will. Col Ebenezer Folsom's land auctioned on 6 Dec. 1799 to settle lien against it likely incurred to support the Rev War. We know this due to the mention of Col Israel Folsom's will, Nathaniel's will, stating his half bro Israel who saved the farm as Col Israel Folsom who obtained the biggest chunk of the property by being the highest bidder at the auction, Capt Isreal-half non-legit brother of Nathaniel via Ms Daniel. e Nathaniel Folsom could have just paid the debt had he inherited as first born with all his combined inheritance; but,Nathaniel and the other boys ( half siblings of my Ms Daniel's Israel) would have had legitimate claim as legitimate children. For whatever reason, Nathaniel's half bro, Capt Israel Folsom and some of Ms. Daniel line was the highest bidder, Capt Israel Folsom, highest bidder bought what he could not have legitimately as he was willed a negro named Simon and no more. Nathaniel's dad, Col. Ebenezer, estate had to settle a lien and that is why the land was auctioned in the first place. His estate was probated in Cumberland Co., NC; was auctioned on 6 Dec. 1799, of which five tracts totaled 1444 acres sold at auction to satisfy a claim of £166.15.6, with interest. Capt. Israel Folsom, being the highest bidder paid £325 for the land with "the appurtenances." (Cumberland County Records, Vol. 18, p. 99.). Capt Israel Folsom did not pay the debt but by buying the land at 44 years old, the money went to pay the creditors. Capt Israel married 2 x ,at least. Capt Israel Folsom and half brother Nathaniel's father, was Patriot Ebenezer Folsom. Marriages: a)first, Capt Israel Folsom in the record on the avatar history is shown as the dad of Sophia Folsom with Miss N.Tehani (OK Choctaw Nation) b) An Israeli Folsom had Rev Israel with Miss Tehani too as well as Sophia. (OK Choctaw Nation) Md Tehini in 1756 if going by the pedigree in the avatar. (Nathaniel's mother was Ms Daniel, Col Ebenezer Folsom's wife- Legit marriage to Miss Daniel 1777, who is Capt Israel's step-mom, and mother of Nathaniel the half brother of Capt Israel Folsom.
