removed to Dutchess Co. about 1742 and there on August 18th 1742 purchased from Andrew Johnson (Andrew Johnson) of Perth Amboy, N.J. and his wife Catherine dau. of Stephen Van Cortlandt 578 acres of land in the vicinity of Fishkill and Wappingers Creek. William Barnes was a co-purchaser with Johannis Buckhout; Dutchess Co. Deeds, Liber 2, pp. 186-187. Johannis made his will about 1770 (Wills Court of Appeals, Albany) probated 1771.
