Journal that was part of John Hays' succession documents in St Tammany. He made a trip in 1809 to see Mark Hays, his son by Jennie (Vann) Brown

 (of Family of Hays in the 1812 Choctaw Regiment in War of 1812 and of the Hays as part of Foster's division of MS militia - "Journal to Georgia:  1809     Now, the Journal entry has: 

"Left home the 29 March 1809. Cross tenecee {Tennessee River} at lowest point and came to Coker’s that night which is 48 miles. 30 – thence Crossed highway and came to Macaners, 32 miles. 31 – thence came threw {through} the turnpike 33 miles, thence April the 1st came to the Chatticuchia {Chattahoochie River} 16 miles. 2- came to the Appellcheha {Apalachicola River}, the 3 – came to Mark Hays." : Hinds Valley Creek is in TN, His miles make this sound really close from where he left to where he arrived. 5 days and around 132 miles on the trip start to finish - where the Sheriff was "John Brown, Sheriff. 1809" - 1. Tax Receipts: 1797 – 1804 – 1805 – 1809 – 1811 - 1817. This trek goes right through Moravian AL and Vann and Thomas native people's locations, on the backflip back to La.
