He married Ruth Powers on April 7, 1756 in Westford, Massachusetts. [9] [7] [8]

Together they had these children:

1. Joseph Hooker
2. Mary Hooker
3. Benjamin Hooker

He died in February 1784 in Greenwich, Hampshire, Massachusetts, USA.

Joe was the grandfather of the more famous Major General "Fighting Joe" Hooker of the Civil War. Joe was a captain during the Revolutionary War, serving under General George Washington in New Jersey.

Captain Joseph Hooker's name appears in the book about Rev. War veterans who last lived in Chautauqua County, NYS, under the Rev. War veteran James Felton. It provides insights into where Captain Hooker, such as at the Battle of Saratoga.
