A farmer in Hartford; his farm of about 200 acres located in the northeast corner of town, bounded on the north by Norwich town line, east by Connecticut River and west by highway leading form Hartford village to Norwich and Hanover NH. Asa was chosen proprietors' clerk in 1780 and probably emigrated from Woodbury CT to Hartford with some of his brothers, several years before their father settled in town.
