About Captain Henry Gale
Served in the Revolutionary War. He was in Capt. John Crowl's Company in a march to Cambridge. He was in Capt. Abel Mason's Company in Col. Cushing's Regiment and participated in the victory over General Burguoyne in October of 1777. Henry participated in Shay's Rebellion. Was sentenced to death by hanging. With the rope around his neck, the sheriff produced the Governor's reprieve. Captain Henry Gale was soon after fully pardoned.
