All born in Kingston.****** Captain Seth Tupper lost his life in St. Lucia, West Indies in 1775.******* Seth's brother Jabez b. 1/27/1733, lost his life aboard an English Frigate where he was held against his will and forced to serve as navigator.******** I"m not sure of the circumstances surrounding Seth's death. I recall, as a child, I heard family talk of one of the Tupper sea Captains being killed and robbed on a Caribbean island. Also, in the year leading up to the Revolution, the British where pursuing and destroying American privateers on sight, as they where all considered "gun runners". That area was abundant with gunpowder and European firearms. There was no US Navy at this time, privateers assumed the job of resistance to the British.
