"Samuel Eldred & Some of His Descendants," by Nelson B. Eldred III, LOC Card No. 92-81631, p.81. Thomas was baptized 16 Apr 1707, First Stonington Church. The diary of Joshua Hempstead of New London has the following item: "June 5, 1753, Mr. Stewart's Brigg which Capt. Thomas Salyd in arrived from Anguilla with salt and he died on this passage home near 60, I suppose." The will of James Packer, 10 May 1765, at New London mentions Abigail Eldredge (wife of Thomas Eldredge).
