Shown on Harry Carl's death cert. as "Carl & Johanna Eiler"
Census Records show the spelling as Karl.
Johanna, son August and Daughter Eda came over on the Rhein ship on April 12, 1882 from Germany. It is assumed Karl was on the same boat as was Johanna's sister Sophie Eilers with her nephew George. (Information from Laura Ross-Dedloff - spouse of descendant of Sophie Eilers)
6 months after the death of Johanna, he married her sister, who it is rumored to have been married to his brother but no records on the brother have been found.
A link to the immigration record can be found on wife Johanna's profile.
Died of gun shot to the head in accidental shooting on October 17, 1890. Newspaper article provided by Laura Ross-Dedloff from Decatur Morning News (October 18, 1890).
