 Dunham. Carroll Dunham August 20, 1995 DUNHAM. Carroll Dunham, 76, of 62 Hamburg Rd., Lyme, a leading Connecticut realtor active in trade associations, politics, and civic affairs, died Thursday (Aug. 17) at Essex Meadows Health Care Facility, Essex. He was born March 3, 1919 in Boston, Mass., the son of Carroll III and Ruth Harper Pilling Dunham. He was raised in Cedarhurst, Long Island, N.Y., graduated from Milton Academy, Milton, Mass., and attended Harvard University. He married Carol Reynolds on June 4, 1948 in New Haven. She survives. After living in Lima, Peru, where he worked for Pan American Grace Airways, he operated Pierce Hollow Farm, a poultry farm in Southbury. Mr. Dunham was president of the Northeast Poultry Producers Council and also founded Custom Farms, a poultry farmers cooperative that pioneered the brand name marketing of poultry products. Along with his wife he operated the Dunham Company Realtors, selling residential real estate in the lower Connecticut River Valley. He was also an active real estate appraiser and taught many real estate courses under the auspices of various real estate boards. He served as treasurer of the Connecticut Realtors Association, which named him Connecticut Realtor of the Year. Mr. Dunham was a former Republican State Central Committeeman for the twentieth senatorial district and a member of the Connecticut Commission of Special Revenue appointed by Governor Weicker. In addition to his wife he is survived by a son, Edward Dunham; daughter-in-law, Laurie Simmons; and two granddaughters, Lena and Grace of New York City; and a son, Carroll Dunham; daughter-in-law, Elizabeth; and grandson, Hayden of New Haven; a brother, Peter Dunham; and a sister, Angela Rogers, both of Southbury. A memorial service will be Tuesday, Aug. 22, 11 a.m., at the First Congregational Church of Old Lyme. Burial will be private. There are no calling hours. Donations may be made in his memory to the Brevillier Fund of the McCurdy Salisbury Education Foundation, 9 Mansegood Rd., Old Lyme 06371, or the Alzheimers Disease and Related Disorders Association, 70 East Lake Ave., Chicago IL 60601.
