Obituary: Madison Capital Times October 10, 1969
JANESVILLE — Carroll F. Oakley , 70, Janesville, died today in a local hospital. Among his survivors are his wife; a son, Clyde, Philadelphia Pa., and two grandchildren. Funeral arrangements were to be made at the Ellingson Funeral Home, Edgerton. ____________________________________

Carroll F. Oakley, son of John and Grace Hull Oakley, was born in Milton, Wisconsin, February 21, 1899, and died at Mercy Hospital [Janesville, Wisconsin] October 9, 1969 following a brief illness.
He was married to Mildred Palmiter of Albion, Wisconsin, August 8, 1923. He is survived by his wife and one son, Clyde, of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and two granddaughters.
His life was spent in the field of education, teaching mathematics and physics at Milton College, the University of Wisconsin, and the University of Kansas. He retired about a year ago and moved to Janesville.
Funeral services were conducted from the Milton Seventh Day Baptist Church by his pastor, the Reverend Earl Cruzan, assisted by Dr. Kenneth Smith of Milton College. Burial was in Evergreen Cemetery, Albion, Wisconsin.
