<p>Fourth child of Juergen and Dorothea Wohler Saehn. Spouse: Hans Jacob Dencklau. Children: five sons, Frederich E. b 1851 d 1931, married Lena Groeke, Nicklous, b 1852 d 1925, married Amelia Diedrich Klindt, Matthias, b 1855 d 1931, married Dorothea Mahnke, Christian, b 1861 d 1945, and Jacob, b 1863 d 1864, married Bertha. Records at the Davenport Public Library reference family members emigrating from Germany to Iowa arrived March 19, 1874. Nicklous Denklau lived in Eldridge and the others lived in Ft. Dodge area. The Ft. Dodge relation added a "c" to their last name to be as Dencklau. Verified she is buried at Colfax Township Cemetery, Duncombe, Iowa 4-16-1998. Grave marker has her name as Catharina Sohn Dencklau--also seen as Catheryn Sahn ("a" instead "o") Dencklau. She died from grippe and lung fever. Updated Catheryn Sahn Dencklau to Catharina Dorothea Sohn Dencklau 5/4/1998--changed back as before 5/16/99. Recd info that maiden name may have been spelled as Saehn 5/99.
