Jefferson Democrat, Brookville, PA Mar. 27, 1889 - Died at her residence in Sligo, Pa., on March 19th, 1889, Mrs. Catharine Conrad, wife of M.M. Conrad. Mrs. Conrad was born in Blair county in 1821. Her maiden name was Catharine Jones. She was married to Mr. Conrad in 1840. The fruit of this union was fourteen children, four of which preceded her to the land of spirits. Her husband and ten children are left to mourn their loss, Mr. George R. Conrad, of Brookville, being one of her sons. Mrs. Conrad gave her heart to God and her name to the M.E. church when she was eighteen years old, and lived a devoted follower of his until he took her unto himself. The last two weeks of her sickness she suffered a great deal, but she found great consolation in him who said, "Lo, I am with you always; even to the end." Her end was peace. Her body was taken to the M.E. church, where a very able sermon was preached by Rev. Felt, of Sligo charge. Farewell, Mother, our loss is your gain. She has gone to be forever with the Lord.

Clarion Democrat, March 28, 1889 - Mrs. Conrad, wife of M. M. Conrad, who had been very poorly for some time died on Tuesday morning, March 19th and was buried in the Sligo cemetery on Thursday. The funeral sermon was preached in the M. E. Church by Rev. Felt.
