Catherine/Katie McGann

Catherine was born on 12 Aug 1870 and christened on August 15th at the Breedogue & Ballinameen Parish. She was only 3 when her father "Owen" died at their farm in Tonroe [Kilnamanagh, Co. Roscommon]. Her older siblings emigrated to NJ 12 years later.

Then on June 5, 1891, she and her younger brother Eugene sailed on the Brittanica with their mother and a male "30-yr-old farmer" O'Reilly to join her brothers Patrick and Michael and sister Mary in Orange, NJ. [Maybe Michael or Patrick returned to get them.] They all lived together in the old Victorian at the entrance to St. John's Cemetery. Theresa is listed with them in the 1895 NJ census.

Then Katie met and married William McGann. They had a daughter, Catherine, and son, William [Frank]. Soon afterward, Katie died. She is buried in the family plot at St. John's.
