Catherine Clare Korin

Catherine (Catharine, Kathryn) "Kitty" McQuillan Korin was born in Allentown, PA in 1907 to John McQuillian and Marry McCauley McQuillan. She was the oldest of four siblings.

On April 18, 1936, Catherine married Paul Samuel Korin. They had one son, Jon Paul, born in 1941. Catharine had been pregnant twice, but suffered a miscarriage after slipping on a patch of ice. I do not know if this was before or after Jon's birth. I believe it was before.

Catherine graduated from Immaculate Conception Parochial School, and worked for many years as a secretary for the Lehigh Portland Cement Co. She learned piano from the Synthetic Piano School.

Catherine suffered a stroke in the early 1990's, and had to be moved to Cedarbrook Nursing Home, Fountain Hill Annex. She passed away October 1, 1997, due to complications from the stroke and poor care in the nursing home.
