BLUEWATER VILLAGE - Services for Cecil Alden Rowley,Sr., 70, were held Jan 1, 2000 at the Latter Day Saints Church in Grants. Bishop Ernest Whetten officiated. Burial at the Pioneer Memorial Park in Bluewater Village, NM. Mr. Rowely died Dec. 29, 1999 in Bluewater Village. He was born Jan. 11, 1929 in Bluewater Village to George Wallace Rowley II and Helen Ilene Harding Rowley. Rowley was a life resident of the village and a life member of the Bluewater Ward. He was a farmer before the discovery of uranium, then worked in uranium mining. He was a long-time volunteer firefighter with the Bluewater Fire Department. Survivors include his wife, Vergie Olive Gifford Rowley of Bluewater Village; son, Cecil Alden "Al" Rowley, Jr. of Gallup; daughters, Patricia Ann Baca of Milan and Cynthia Louise Phelps-Becerra of Albuquerque; mother, Helen Ilene Rowley of Layton, Utah; sisters Ilene Gibson, Pauline Dolezal, Louise Eby and Dorothy Lambson; brothers, Wallace Rowley and Ted Rowley; and seven grandchildren. Grants Mortuary in charge of arrangments.
