Celinda Chase

Celinda Chase, dau. of Solomon P. Chase Jr. and Alice Sargent, was born Oct. 16, 1803 in Mannthalo, Vermont; married with CHESTER B. PERKINS. She died July 14, 1891, prob. in Dodge Co., Wisconsin.

• 1850 census: Salinda Perkins (44, b Vt) and husband Chester Perkins (51, b NY); in Neikimi, Wisconsin w ch. Theresa (23), Minerva (19), Diana (16), Mary (11), and Oregon (3, b Wisc). Also there are a Lucian Perkins (2, b Wisc) and Minerva Swift (-0-) and Leola Swift (3). Chester is a carpenter.

Salinda Chase Perkins was born in Vermont to Alice Sargent and Solomon P. Chase. She came from a long line of aristocracy leading back to Henry I, King of France. She was married to Chester Boyles Perkins from Massachusetts. They had seven children together. They include: Louis Boyles, Theresa Jane, Henry Jackson, Minerva, Diantha, Mary A. and Oregon R.

Daughter, Diantha Perkins, was married at a young age to Abner Scoville. Unfortunately, Abner was killed in a hunting accident. Their little baby (born the same year as Abner's death) went to live with her grandparents, Chester and Salinda. Her name was Abby Scoville. She went on to marry Albert Love in Cashton, WI.

From Findagrave: Salinda Chase Perkins, born “Celinda”, on Oct. 6, 1803 in Vermont to Alice Sargent and Solomon P. Chase. She was married to Chester Boyles Perkins from Massachusetts. They had eight children together. They include: Louis Boyles, Theresa Jane, Henry Jackson, Minerva, Diantha, Mary A., Oregon R. and Lucian C. ?

Daughter, Diantha Perkins, was married at a young age to Abner Scovill. Unfortunately, Abner was killed in a hunting accident. Their little baby (born the same year as Abner's death) went to live with her grandparents, Chester and Salinda. Her name was Abby D. Scovill. She went on to marry Albert Love in Cashton, WI. (Second husband: George G. Rogers) According to a document found in the Vernon County, WI Historical Society, it states that Salinda died at the home of her grandson, Solomon Vanduzee. It says she was survived by 9 children (possibly including Abby Scovill?), 39 grandchildren, 95 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren.
