From Findagrave: Diantha Perkins Scovill was born 1/26/1834 in Homer, VT to Chester Boyles Perkins and Salinda Chase Perkins. Her siblings included: Louis Boyles, Theresa Jane, Henry “H.J.” Jackson, Minerva, Mary Alice, Oregon and Lucian C.

Diantha married Abner Scovill and they had one child, Abby D. Scovill Love Rogers. Unfortunate, Abner was killed in a hunting accident on Oct. 15, 1853 just shortly after the birth of their daughter. Abby was born 7/12/1853.

According to Abner’s probate documents, Diantha petitioned the court for money to live on some time in 1854. At that time she and her daughter were living in Dayton Township, Waupaca County, WI. In 1855, the State census lists Diantha in Friendship, WI but by 1860 the census has Abby living with her grandparents, Chester and Salinda, and their son, Oregon. It is unclear at this time what happened to Diantha after 1855. Perhaps she remarried or even passed away. However, her legacy lives on through her daughter’s lineage.
