About Charity Vann
Not a known wife of Edward “Ned” Vann, Sr. (died about 1758 - 1773?) or of Trader Henry Marshall (born 1677) or daughter of Richard Barnes, of Chowan County
She’s seen in Shawnee Heritage books as “sister of Mary Barnes, wife of Edward Vann.” And in Jim Hicks Family Tree Maker reports as “Charity unknown.”
However, if Edward Vann had a second wife, we don’t know her name. And Mary Barnes (actually, Richard Barnes’ stepdaughter) did not have a sister or step sister called Charity.

(The following record is often assigned to Edward Vann to show the name of his second wife. The date places this well outside Edward’s expected time to be married and have a small child.
