Mrs Alma Axtel died at Freeport hospital Friday of last week. She was the daughter of Mr and Ames Thomas Shaw and she was born in Elizabeth in August 1865. Her husband Charles Axtel, died a number of years ago leaving her with two children. Her daughter is the wife of Cyrus Breed of Elizabeth and the son, Lee is a teacher in the west. The remains were brought here Friday and the funeral held Sunday afternoon. She leaves behind her children, one sister, three brothers and an aunt to mourn her departure from this life.
