About Charles Carmichael of Park
Biographical Summary
"Charles Carmichael [who has been wrongly styled James] is described as the son of Gavin in several public documents. He may have married a daughter of Crichton of Sauchie."
SOURCE: The Scots Peerage, Vol. IV, page 582
Notes ◦TSP identifies this man as Charles "who has been wrongly styled James", which is the name used in BE1883. TSP suggests that Charles may have predeceased his father and so may not have been laird of the family estates. TSP also suggests that his wife may have been a daughter of Crichton of Sauchie/Sanquhar. We follow BE1883 in showing his wife as Marian Campbell because it does not just mention her name but refers also to her pedigree. [1
