About Charles Raymond Frye, Sr.
Charles Raymond Frye, 62 of Holbrook, died suddenly of a heart attack early Wednesday morning in Apollo. He was a 40-year employe of the Peoples Natural Gas Company.
He began his career with Peoples as a meter reader in Greene County; was promoted to meter engineer and in 1948 was transfered to Pittsburgh where he worked in the Lease and Right-of-Way Department. He retired in January 1964.
Prior to working for Peoples, he was a school teacher in Greene County for three years and was also an independent insurance agent. He was a member of the first Greene County School Board.
He was born June 18, 1903 in Jackson Township to the lake Andrew and Lillian Phillips Frye. His wife, the former Frankie McVay, whom he married June 26, 1962, survives.
Also surviving are two sons, Clair at home and Raymond of Aleppo; a daughter, Mrs. Francis (Mary Kay) Beilley of Glendale, W.Va.; eight grandchildren; three half-brothers, Keith Frye of Gibsonia, Kenneth Frye of Greensburg and Harold Frye of
Holbrook; a sister, Mrs. Orton (Ruth) Hughes of Holbrook.
A brother Henry and a sister, Ressa Throckmorton are both deceased.
He was a member of the F & AM Lodge 153 of Waynesburg, Syria Shrine, Coudersport Consistory; BPOE of Greensburg and the Holbrook Christian Church.

FRYE -- Friends of Charles R. Frye of Holbrook who died Wednesday, July 14, 1965, are being received in the William W. Garrison Funeral Home, E. High Street Waynesburg, where services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday with Rev. Stanley Darrah in charge. Burial in Centennial Cemetery. Masonic services will be held at 8 p.m. Saturday in the funeral home by Waynesburg Lodge 153.
