About Charles James Spiller, SV/PROG
1820 Settler - Member of Crause's Party on the Nautilus. Emigrated on the 3 Dec 1819 from Gravesend, Kent, England.And arrive in 1820. He had his own shop in Graaff-Reinet CJ. also owned a historical house accommodated Clegg’s Midland Hotel in 1837. Charles was also secretary of the local Midland Agency and Trust Company until his tragic murder in May 1866.
