! CHARLES ORMSBY:Was born at Fort Alexandra and grew up to be the largest member of the family at 6ft 8ins.He was employed at the Colonial Affairs Office in Auckland and lived in Fiji for many years. Charles owned property at Puketarata about 3 miles from his brother Arthur's Holdings,but sold out and moved to Gympie Australia after Marrying Connie Theadore 1n 1892.Arc.3231(Te Awamutu Museum Archives)state "Ngutunui School Booklet"...Charles Ormsby donated land for the School Site, quarter of a mile down what is now known as Pekanui Rd abt 1913. Charles wife was the first Teacher. Charles died and was buried in Australia... dates unknown. Robert Sen. had a letter from Charles20 May 1895 saying that Charles had been very illfor 5 weeks with fever. 23 mar 1896 Charles must have left for the Islands...He was well. Charles 22 Aug 1897, He had left the company in Taviuni in Jun and then went to work as boss over coolles at making a railroad 3 miles long, which is an extension of one 9 miles long used for hauling cane to the mills. He is now on the larger Island of the Group which he liked better than the other.
