Charles Stewart, here treated, is the eldest son of Francis Stewart, Lord Stewart and Bothwell and his wife Isabel Seton He is reported to have been born on The Scots Peerage II: 173 and his baptism was registered at Tranent in East Lothian on 7 February 1618. [National Records of Scotland, Tranent Baptisms, reference OPR.722/1] He became a trooper in the Civil War, and, according to a MS. history he 'dyed in England after Worcester,' apparently unmarried. The Scots Peerage II: 173 The Battle of Worcester took place on 3 September 1651.

Charles Stewart was born on 15 January 1618/19 at Tranent. He was baptised on 7 February 1618/19. He died at England. He was the son of Francis Stewart, Master of Bothwell and Lady Isabel Seton. He fought in the Battle of Worcester.
