Chris Bronkhorst (1944 - 2011)

Brief overview:

Chris (67), a disabled pensioner, was brutally tortured by four attackers in his Walkerville smallholding home on 29th September 2010. He was beaten, repeatedly whipped with a sjambok and melting plastic on his hands. Details of alleged sexual torture were not published. Forensics signs showed blood splatters against the kitchen wall where the attackers had bashed his head against it, then dragged from there to the lounge where he was tortured. Emergency services arrived and transferred Bronkhorst to ICU Milpark Hospital where he spent a month.

Bronkhorst was then transferred to a hospice to recover further, where he developed seriously infected bedsores.

On November 20th 2010 after suffering a stroke, he was taken back to the intensive care unit with complications. One of his legs had to be amputated.

On April 24 2011, family friend Marius Avenant announced - "I am sad to say that we have been informed this morning that Chris Bronkhorst has died early this morning after a long suffering. Rest in Peace Chris. You will be remembered."
