Christian "Christy" Arney, Sr. was born in York(town), York County, Pennsylvania, in 1750. He moved with his family, around 1767, from Pennsylvania to the area of Tryon County, North Carolina (which later became Lincoln County, North Carolina). So, he lived in the area of Lincoln County, North Carolina), the majority of his life, where he died in 1834.

It's believed that Christian "Christy" Arney, Sr. inherited his father's (Jacob Arney) land and plantation, which he added to himself, by purchasing more land, until his death.
