Christian/Christopher Duchman taxed 1791 as single freeman, Cumberland Valley twp, Bedford, Pennsylvania this would seem to put a closer fix on his date of marriage. His will in Monongalia Wills 1:2. 154 acres at Indian Creed sold by his heirs, 15 January 1836{Mono Deeds OS 13:259}. Jacob Toothman et al to Timothy Smith.

Christopher Taughman, or Toothman, was apparently born in Frederic County, Maryland. We know from census records that the event took place before 1765. He was in Monongalia County, (West) Virginia by 1810, and he brought his wife, Phebe (maiden name unknown) and their children. As had been the case with his ancestors, Christopher engaged in both agricultural pursuits and a trade (such trade we do not know, for early census records were not specific).

Christopher died, we can assume in 1823. His will, written February 21st of that year, was probated in May of the same year. He names his wife and some ten children (order of birth unknown, marriages are in Monongalia County)
