Christian B. Herr

Although there were two Christians in the same time period, I can not categorically conclude that the original placement of three of his children was wrong. I found them attached to this profile, whereas Theodore's Herr's book has them with the other Christian.

There is definite inconsistencies in the birth date of the other Christian, Christian B. Herr, with the birth dates of his children in a much regarded book by Theodore Herr. I have not proven whether Theodore Herr's error was in Christian's birth date or his placement of the children. With the manner in which he researched and judging from other mistakes I found in his book, it is more likely that he erred with dates rather than with the family members. I have decided to keep the profiles and children consistent with Herr's book and assume that his birth date was wrong.

It is important to note that the Herr families' use of traditional names resulted in many families with the same names. I have found many cases where a Geni user (including myself) has merged a branch with the wrong Christian, Abraham, Rudolph Herr, etc.
