Christ Jauch of Houghton Passes

Christ Jauch 73 years old, passed away Thursday morning at the family home, 115 South street, after a lengthy illness. The deceased was born in Deislingen, Wurtenberg, Germany, Nov. 23, 1866, and came to this country in 1883 at the age of 17 years. He had been a resident of the Copper Country for 57 years. He was employed by the Atlantic Mining company and later by the D. A. Stratton Co. of Atlantic. He was a charter member of Ss. Peter and Paul's Lutheran church of Hancock. Mr. Jauch is survived by his widow; two sons, Carl of Ironwood and Christian of Duluth; one sister, Mrs. Anna Walter of Houghton, and two brothers, William of Hibbing, Minn., and August of Catawba, Wis. He also is survived by three grandchildren. Funeral arrangements are incomplete. The body was removed from the Hillside Mortuary to the family home yesterday afternoon.

Christ Jauch Rites Will Be Held Today

Funeral services for Christ Jauch, who died Thursday morning, will be held this afternoon at 2 o'clock in SS. Peter and Paul's church in Hancock E. W. Feldscher will officiate and burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery.
