Mrs Osterhaus died at home of dtr. Funeral svcs held at St Francis Church this morning.

Mrs Elizabeth Osterhaus, 82, pioneer resident of this community d Mon morning at home of dtr, Mrs Henry Becker, near Worthington, aft 2 wk illness. She b Aug 11 1856 near New Vienna, dtr of Mr & Mrs Henry Klaus. In 1868 family moved to farm SE of Dyersville. Following marriage to Frank Osterhaus, Feb 18 1873, she & husband lived yr on present Ray Biermann farm. They then bought Osterhaus homestead where Osterhaus Bros live today. In 1895 they moved to present Ben Osterhaus farm NE of Dyersville. They retired in 1911 to their residence in West Dyersville where Mr Osterhaus d Aug 13, 1924. Since that time she has been making her home w/son Frank. She leaves 3 dtrs: Catherine (John) Roling; Anna (Wm) Sabers; & Josephine (Henry) Becker; & 6 sons: Henry F; Anton; Joe; Frank; Ben & Fred. 2 sis, Mrs Chris Montag, E Dubuque; & Mrs Anna Sytes, MO; & 1 bro Joe Klaus, MO, also survive. Mr & Mrs Osterhaus were 1 of 3 couples married at same time in St Francis Church, other 2 being Mr & Mrs Charles Kramer & Mr & Mrs Frank Klostermann. All 3 men are dead, but Mrs Osterhaus is 1st of 3 women to pass away. Mrs Klostermann is living at Remsen & Mrs Kramer is living w/dtr Mrs J X Bullinger in this city. Funeral was held this morning from Frank Osterhaus home near Bankston to St Francis Church at 9 o'clock.
