At the time of her marriage, Christina was aged 21 years and a spinster from Vrede town. Her husband, Pieter Francois Johannes de Jager was aged 38 years, a bachelor and farmer from ' Doornkloof ' Potchefstroom District,Transvaal.

They were married after banns and with Christina's parents consent at the NG Kerk, Vrede on 16 August 1927 by Presiding Minister, Ds H.J. Reyneke in the presence of the following witnesses :
