Christopher was a son of Marmaduke Vickery (30038475). The name has been variously spelled Vickery, Vickory, Vickrey, Vicory, etc. - all probably pronounced VICK-ree.

Christopher's exact birth year is uncertain. He was over 100 and some say maybe as old as 105. He was a Baptist preacher and is believed to have been present at Valley Forge and at the Battle of Guilford Court House.

He was married three times, of which two names are known: Hannah (nee Hodge) and Mariah (nee ?).

He is reported to be buried at Timber Ridge. There are two cemeteries listed as Timber Ridge, but they are probably both the same, being near the border of Randolph and Guilford Counties - and also, at last report, being deep in the woods, abandoned, and virtually inaccessible.

Marmaduke is the sole entry at the other listing for Timber Ridge in North Carolina.∼Information from "The pioneers from Vickory to Vickery" by Mae Elizabeth Lang. "Christopher Vickory died in 1841.
