Claire Auman

my mother claire aumann was the daughter of hugo jonas bondi - mainz - frankfurt am main. they lived in the palm strasse 7 together with her sister beatrice maud bondi - offenbacher my grandfather married caroline rothschild from frankfurt in 1891 my mother married oscar aumann who lived at palm strasse 11 in 1920 mother and aunt beaty grew up and went the sr hisch school in ffm and then after graduation spent a year together with two of her friend in london, where they boarded at mr loewey and his wife in the north of the city of london. this was kind of finishing school with a strictly orthodox english speaking family. they had a wonderful time in a modern orthodox environment enjoying a year of bliss.my mother was a very well educated person with great interests in every field of endeavor. she was an interesting lady to know and was well liked in her many circles of friends. my brother reiner and i were brought up in this same milieu, also under the tremendous influence and input of my grandfather mr. hugo bondi who lived in close proximity to us in the baumweg 32 we spent many friday long winter evenings as well as shabbat and yomim tovim with grandfather bondi, who had a special way of beautifying all services to the utmost and us children enjoying all the details. in addition to reiner and myself, our cousins elmer and carolyn offenbacher, who lived with grandpa bondi, after their beautiful mother died in 1927 in ffm. it was a wonderful experience to have been brought up in this wonderful environment. see the bondi family book written in great detail by reiner auman.
