Clarence Austin Brown (1983 – 2008)

Brief overview:

Clarence (25), was ambushed after being at the Sizanani 2 Bar Lounge in Oakley village, Hazyview, at around 02h00 on 23rd February 2008. He was offered a lift in a Toyota Venture, but was butchered in the vehicle.

One of his testicles, his nipples, part of brain and bones from his legs were removed. His body was then thrown in a road in Oakley to create the impression he'd been hit by a car.

It is alleged that Clarence's uncle, businessman Patrick Floyd Mokoena (58), told his son that he desperately needed human body parts 'to make his four businesses quickly churn big bucks'. Mokoena owns the Lebohang Bar Lounge, a restaurant in Tekamahala Trust, another in Oakley near Hazyview as well as a liquor-outlet in Oakley.

The suspects made formal admissions to the arresting police that they 'cut his body parts while he was still alive'.

  • The three suspects were arrested by the Organised Crime Unit between 13 and 14 August 2008 while sitting relaxed at their homes, thinking that their evil deeds had gone unnoticed. They were remanded in custody until 26 August 2008.
