Clarissa Jane Davis

Clarissa Jane Jacobs was born January 5, 1851, near Agyle, Wisconsin and departed this life at the home of her daughter, Mrs. William Kile near Upland, Nebraska, November 19, 1924, at the age of 73 years, 10 months and 14 days. On July 3. 1870, she untied in marriage with David Perry Davis, at Argyle, Wisconsin, which place the lived until 1882, when they moved to Nebraska, where she has since made her home. She became a member of the Lutheran Chruch in her girlhood to which faith she has clung throughout her lifetime. For many years owing to poor health, she has lived a quiet retired life.

She often requested that this service be very simple and quiet, wishing for an earnest sermon, songs that meant something, and a prayer for those she left.

She leaves to mourn her departure, six sons, five daughters, twenty-eight grandchildren, one great grandchild, and one brother; her husband and one son having preceeded her to the Great Beyond many years ago.

A short service was held at the home of her daughter, Mrs. William Kile, near Upland, Friday November 21st and at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Martin Kaufmand, south of Bladen, Nebraska Saturday afternoon at 1 p.m., Rev HEnry F. Martens, of Bladen, Nebraska officiation after which the interment was made in the Plainview cemetery.
