About Edwin Jacobs, (twin)
Edwin and his twin brother were both Civil War Veterans. Edwin enlisted in Company A 1st Infantry Regiment of Wisconsin, on Novemeber 16, 1863 and was mustered out on October 21, 1864. During his time in the Union Army Edwin had been in 32 battles and had seen 46 days of fighting. His service took him to the states of Georgia, Missouri, Arkansas and Mississippi. Edwin was in two battles in Viksburg, Miss. one on Sept. 13, 1863 and the other on July 4, 1864.
Obituary: Edwin Jacobs died at the home of his son John E. Jacobs Feb. 1, 1903. Aged 62 years 15 days. The deceased was born in DeKalb Co., Indiana, Jan 16, 1841 and came to Wisconsin in the fall of 1846. He was married in 1860 to Ann Smith she having died about 18 years ago. Seven children were born to them, all of whom are living. The funeral was held at the M.E. Church in Argyle, yesterday. Rev J.E.
