Clark (Hobson) Adair's older sister Elizabeth (Hobson) Allen and her husband lived near the Adairs. When Elizabeth died in 1751 she named "her kinswoman Sarahann Adair daughter of James and Clerk Adair" as residual legatee in her will.

• In dividing my estate, my daughter Leatesinia Hobson shall allow three parts of the value of the said negro woman Kate to my three daughters, Elizabeth Allen, Sarahann Hobson, and Clark Aldair.
• Rest of my estate to be equally divided between my four daughters Elizabeth Allen, Sarahann Hobson, Leatesina Hobson, and Clark Aldair
• Three daughters Sarahann Hobson, Leatesina Hobson, and Clark Adair, executors.
