It was not too long after the youngsters were confirmed that Father Clayton Jackson took over the Turffontein, parish. It was as though the house of God had miraculously risen from the dead, even in such modern times. Father Jackson was the new revelation, and things got better as the flock fizzled back to hear the 'good news' the new Shepherd of God had come to preach.
Father Clayton Jackson was a handsomely rugged-looking, over six-foot tall priest. He was a strong-willed character, who possessed an amazing natural talent with a deep commitment to bring the Turffontein parish back to life. His involvement sparked a new interest, especially for the youth of the parish. He had a special kind of magnetic attraction, which one could not resist.
His popularity, especially with the feminine side of his newly revived congregation, grew overnight. Some very forward female parishioners even described him as 'a hunk who is much too good looking to be a priest'.
