About Clifford A. Kuther
Cliff Kuther of Clarkston died Thursday, March 20, 2014, at his home. He was born June 1, 1919, in Ferdinand, to Henry and Rose Kuther (Riedinger). After graduating from Ferdinand High School, he worked for farmers and then moved to Seattle and was employed by Boeing. During World War II, he enlisted in the U.S. Army Air Forces, where he was a top turret gunner on a B-26 and flew 39 missions in the European theater. After the war, he returned home and married Eleanore Duclos in Cottonwood on April 15, 1947. Cliff worked at Safeway in Clarkston for six years, then at Pepsi-Cola until he retired in 1980. He loved to garden and travel, going to many places and countries. He leaves behind Eleanore, his wife of 66 years; and five children, Arlene Evett (Mike), Jim Kuther (Pam), Bob Kuther, Glenda Anderson (Neil), and Joan George (Bob). He is survived by a brother-in-law, Tom Faerber; and sister-in-law Jan Riedinger. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by two brothers, two sisters, a granddaughter and a daughter-in-law.
Memorials may be made to Holy Family School or the charity of your choice.
A rosary will be recited at 10 a.m. Monday, followed at 10:30 by the funeral Mass at Holy Family Catholic Church, 1109 Chestnut St., Clarkston, with Father Root officiating. Burial will follow at Vineland Cemetery in Clarkston.
