Col. Andrew Armstrong

Colonel, of Co. Kildare, wounded at the Battle of Hackstet, died in 1722 aged 80 - 'Pedigree of Armstrong of Mangerton in Scotland' (National Library of Ireland GO Ms. 171).

Born Stonestown; Lieutenant 13th Regiment of Foot 1685; Captain 1697; Major 1700; Lieutenant-Colonel; retired 1709/10 on being refused a regiment; bought Morristown Co. Kildare; Justice of the Peace; died 1722 aged 79 - John Armstrong, 'The Pedigree of the Family of Armstrongs' (National Library of Ireland Ms. 5216). "He married Lady Westhaw of the noble family of Sandilands in Scotland but by her who died many years before him he had no issue, so he left his estate to Edmund the eldest son of his brother William" - John Armstrong, 'The Pedigree of the Family of Armstrongs', continued by the Rev.
