About Col. Ebenezer Learned, Esq.
EBENEZER LEARNED SR born in Framingham Mass 31 Aug 1690 son of Isaac Learned Jr. He was one of the first settlers of Oxford Mass. He married on 14 Oct 1714 in Oxford Deborah Haynes daughter of John and Ruth Haynes. Their first child was the first child born in Oxford. He was a Colonel in the French and Indian wars. He was a large and powerful man and once overpowered an Indian that tried to kill him in his sleep. He had allowed the Indian to sleep in his house. Ebenezer kept a slave named Mingo and possibly others.
