About Isaac Byrant Learned, Jr.
Isaac LEARNED b. 16-Sep-1655, Chelmsford, MA, m. 23-Jul-1679, Sarah BIGELOW, b. 29-Sep-1659. Isaac died 15-Sep-1737.
On February 27th, 1679, Isaac bought the 40 acre farm of Thomas Eames adjacent to a small pond, which today still bears his name, Learned Pond, in Framingham, MA. Six months later he married Sarah, the daughter of his neighbor, John Bigelow and the younger sister of his compatriot, Joshua, from the King Philip's War.

ISAAC LEARNED Jr son of Isaac Learned Sr was born in Chelmsford Mass 16 Sept 1655. He married Sarah Bigelow 23 July 1679 in Chelmsford. She was born in Watertown 29 Sept 1659. The daughter of John & Sarah(Warren)Bigelow. They settled in Framingham near the beautiful pond of 36 acres that is still called Learned’s pond. He was a soldier in Capt Davenport’s company at the Narragansett fight and was wounded. He was received as an inhabitant of Sherborn in April 1679.(Framingham was not a town at that time.) He was on the committee to procure the act of incorporation for the town in 1699. It was voted in town meeting 21 Aug 1700 that Mr Joseph Buckminster, Isaac Learned, and John Heaver should be the men to go and discourse with a lawyer about our aggrieved neighbors. Isaac was selectman in 1692, 1698, 1706, and 1711. He was fence viewer in 1681/2. Isaac’s brother Benoni settled in Framingham before 1680. Isaac paid the highest tax of any one living Framingham, so he must have owned one or more of the mills.
