1705 - From "Extracts from King William County records," in the Virginia Historical Magazine, Vol. 25, page 174:
In 1705, Thomas Ellett deeded land in King William County to his son-in-law, John White and wife Mary. In 1730, they are mentioned in Spotslyvania County.

The link between John and his son Daniel is circumstantial. No records exist directly linking the two. However, connections between John's proven sons (Thomas and James) and Daniel exist.

John White II was born in 1662 in New Kent County, Virginia, on land that later became Hanover county. He was the son of John White, Sr., and Eady Llewellen (aka Llewellin). The White family were English, perhaps from Wiltshire, perhaps from Yorkshire. John White Sr. had come to Lower Norfolk County, Virginia as a child, probably a servant or apprentice. His "headright" had been paid to William Croutch in 1639 along with John Warford, Thomas Smith, Peter Hill, William Minnokes: 250 acres called Woolfe Neck in Lower Norfolk County.[1] If the research by Jim White is correct, John Sr. had followed older brother, Thomas White, who at age 16, emigrated from England to Virginia aboard the ship George in August 1635 and settled on the Eastern branch of the Elizabeth River in Lower Norfolk County.
The White family established themselves on what became the VA/NC border, then entirely in Virginia colony, building a plantation on Knotts Island. John Sr., married Eady Llewellin (aka Llewellen), born in 1640 in Virginia, around 1660, and they had several children, including John II, born ca. 1662 either in Norfolk County or New Kent County (later was Hanover Co.). John II became a Colonel in the British colonial Army. Around 1695 he married Mary Elizabeth "Betsy" Elbert and they lived primarily in New Kent County, Virginia, raising their family there.
John White came from Whitley, England to Isle of Wight County, Virginia.
