About Col. Joseph Bee
Col. Joseph Bee served in the Revolution under the command of General Francis Marion as well as others. Bee was also a Colonel in the War of 1812 and family history has it that when the British occupied Savannah they could not catch Bee so they put a bayonet in his portrait which hung on the wall.
