About Col Reuben Oscar Reynolds, Sr
Oscar married in 1864 Sarah Banks Young the daughter of Col George Hampton Young of Waverly MS. This is a quote taken from Reuben Davis's book Recollections of Mississippi and Mississippians; "I made the acquaintance of Colonel R. O. Reynolds when he was a lad of some twelve or thirteen years. Between his father and myself the most friendly relations existed, and I felt for him a sincere attachment, and also for the mother, who was a handsome woman, with agreeable and elegant manner. Colonel Reynolds grew up at this father's home, near Aberdeen, and received every advantage of education."
