MEMORIAL PHOTOS 4 FLOWERS 5 Nov. 6, 1835 Charlotte Journal DIED, at his residence, in the vicinity of Fayetteville, on Tuesday, the 2nd inst., COL. SAMUEL ASHE, aged 74 years. COL. ASHE, at the age of 20, joined the Revoluntionary Standard of his country: he received a Lieutenant's commission and remained with the American Army at the city of Charleston, until it was forced to capitulate, at which period he was made a prisoner and continued so for some time. 2nd youngest son of Gov. Samuel Ashe and Mary Porter.
