About Col. William Lewis, Sr., of Henrico
William Lewis was born abt 1660 in Henrico Co., Va. or possibly Wales. He married Elizabeth Woodson c1680-90 in Henrico County, Va. He is found in the Henrico County records settling the estate of his father, as well as purchasing land during this time. While no record is found of his marriage, it is proven by a settlement of land on William's sons, Joseph and William, by Robert Woodson, Jr.
In this settlement the boys are listed as Robert's grandsons. William also appears as a witness at one of the first Quaker weddings in Henrico County. His will can be found in the Henrico County records. It was an oral will witnessed by his brother-in-law, George Payne.
