They had two daughters, Joan and Eleanor (wife of Thomas Vaughan of Bredwardine). He married (2nd ELIZABETH VAUGHAN, daughter of Thomas Vaughan, of Hergest, Herefordshire, by Ellen Gethn, daughter of Dafydd ap Cadwgan ap Phylip Dorddu. They had four sons, James, Esq., John, Hugh, and Robert, and three daughters, Ellen (wife of John Puleston) Sibyl (wife of Roger ap Richard Vaughan, of Hergest), and Elizabeth (wife of John Pye). ROBERT WHITNEY, Esq., died shortly before 6 Oct. 1494. His widow, Elizabeth, was living 4 May 1525. ....

She married ROGER VAUGHAN, Knt., of Porthaml (in Talgarth), Breconshire, Wales, Steward and Receiver of the Lordship of Dinas, 1509, 2nd son of Roger Vaughan, Knt., of Tretower, Breconshire, by his 1st wife, Denise, daughter of Thomas ap Philip Vaughan of Tyle-Glas. They had four sons, Watkin, Esq., John, Harry, Esq., and Thomas, Esq., and four daughters, Elinor (wife of Thomas Gwyn, Hywel ap Gwilym, and William Dometh), Elizabeth, __ (wife of Jenkin ap Thomas), and Margaret (wife of John Parker). by a mistress or mistresses, he also had three illegitimate sons, Thomas, Roger, and Robert. He was born about 1411 (aged 30 in 1441) They had one son, Robert, Esq.. He married (2nd) JANE CLIFFORD, daughter of Robert Clifford, Knt. They allegedly had one daughter, Penelope (wife of William Abrahal). In 1457 he was sued in a plea of debt by William Forster, Citizen and tailor of London. The same year he sued John Cheyne and his wife, Perin, in a plea of land. EUSTACE WHITNEY, Esq., died 1481/1. ....

This branch of the Vaughan family was founded by Roger Vaughan, second son Of Sir Roger Vaughan of Tretower-see Vaughan family of Tretower. He was possibly the Roger Vaughan Of Tyle-glas who was pardoned on 9 July 1491, and figures again in Henry VIII's pardon roll (1509) as Roger ap Roger of Tyle-glas, or Roger Vaughan Of Talgarth. He was granted the offces of steward and receiver of the lordship of Dinas, 17 Jan. 1509, and was dead before 25 Sept. 1514, when those offices were granted to Sir Griffith ap Rice. His wife was Joan, '''daughter of Robert Whitney by Constance, daughter of James, lord Audley'''. The Vaughans of Tregunter descended from his second son, Thomas Vaughan. The heir, Watkin Vaughan married. Joan, daughter of leuan Gwilym Vaughan Of White Peyton. .... _____________________
