Survivor: lion attack: Cornelis survived an attack from a lion. He shot the lion but the lion attacked him and mutilated his arm. His eldest son rescued him by forcing the lions teeth open to free his father and then shot the lion.
Survivor of assegai wound: Cornelis was severely injured by and assegai when his (also wounded) eldest son came to his rescue.
